CWIT is to receive the Women in Tech Initiative Award
Each year, the Women In Tech Initiative recognises one not-for-profit organisation that has demonstrated exceptional initiative to promote women in tech.
The DTS Women in Tech Awards chose to recognise Connecting Women In Technology (CWIT) in 2019 due to their phenomenal work on programs to attract, retain and promote females in the technology sector in Ireland and in turn attract more girls and women into STEM occupations. The Women in Tech Awards wish to promote their incredible efforts. We hope to further dialogue around equality and inspire the thousands of young female tech enthusiasts around Ireland to become leaders in their own right.
We are delighted to announce the recipient of the Women in Tech Initiative Award 2019 sponsored by Version 1. Congratulations to CWIT!
CWIT – Background and Introduction
It is recognised that women are under-represented in the science and technology based careers that will drive the industries of tomorrow and shape all our futures. Statistics across the European Union suggest that while numbers are growing, we still have more to do to increase the percentage of technical positions being filled by women.
CWIT was founded by Dell, Microsoft and Accenture in 2011 to bring together technology companies with the vision of “connecting and supporting the development of women in the technology industry, now and for the future”. Since then, CWIT has grown to 18 member companies.
