Celebrating Excellence at the 2023 Diversity in Tech Awards!
The 2023 Diversity in Tech Awards, in partnership with J.P. Morgan, was a night to remember, where we celebrated diversity, innovation, and inclusivity in the tech world. We’re thrilled to announce the shining stars of the evening:
Ernst & Young took the crown as the Diverse Company of the Year, recognized for their unwavering commitment to diversity within their Irish operation. Their dedication to creating an inclusive workplace is a beacon of inspiration for the entire industry.
But that’s not all! We were honoured to present the Grace Hopper accolade to Carolan Lennon, the Country Leader for Salesforce Ireland. Carolan’s incredible journey is a testament to innovation, leadership, and the essence of the Grace Hopper Award itself.
The night was filled with engaging program highlights:
- Dr. Norah Patten, the Aeronautical Engineer, Citizen Scientist-Astronaut Candidate, and Changemaker, took us on her “Mission to Launch through the Glass Ceiling to The Stars.” Her journey through aerospace and barrier-breaking was truly inspiring.
- Our lively panel discussion, ‘The ROI of DEI: Driving Business Profitability through Diversity and Inclusion,’ featured experts like Steven Fuller of Race In STEM, Angelika Sharygina of Mindguardian, Kyran O’Mahoney of Inclusion and Accessibility Labs, and more. Their insights were invaluable.
- A special recognition was given to the non-profit organisation Generation Ireland, receiving the Diversity in Tech Impact Award for their incredible work promoting inclusion across entry-level workforce employment. Their commitment to inclusivity is commendable.
Since its inception in 2018, the Diversity in Tech Awards has celebrated the shift towards more diverse and inclusive workplaces in the tech industry. We’ve applauded Irish companies leading in IT excellence, innovation, leadership, and overall success.
The night was adorned with exceptional talent, and here are just a few of the incredible winners:

Tracey Carney, Managing Director of the Diversity in Tech Awards, summed it up beautifully: “The Diversity in Tech Awards are an important feature on the Dublin Tech Summit teams calendar. The awards offer us a chance to give back to the tech community and support those championing the DE&I cause.”
Accepting the Grace Hopper Award, Carolan Lennon shared her heartfelt thoughts: “I’m incredibly honoured to receive this award. Throughout my career, I’ve seen and experienced first-hand the value and importance of having a dedicated focus on equality, and creating a workplace that reflects a society where all employees feel seen, valued, and empowered.”
